Respiratory disease treatment kit available
A new tool to help you screen, identify and treat dairy calves with bovine respiratory disease (BRD) is available.
Commonly known as pneumonia, studies show that BRD is responsible for more than 20 percent of pre-weaned and nearly 50 percent of post-weaned calf deaths.
The new tool is called the Breathe Easy BRD Detection and Treatment kit. It was developed by Bayer HealthCare, LLC, Animal Health Division, in partnership with Sheila McGuirk, University of Wisconsin-Madison veterinarian. It contains McGuirk’s symptom-identification guide, a scorecard recordkeeping booklet and a specially designed pouch with pockets for medicine bottles and syringes.
