Heat treatment increases IgG absorption

Research from Penn State confirms that colostrum can be heat-treated without affecting immunoglobulin levels or viscosity. In fact, calves fed colostrum that was heated for 30 minutes at 140 Fahrenheit actually had much higher IgG levels at 24 hours compared to calves fed unheated colostrum. Click here for more details.
